Course Overview
Description
The International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB) published IFRS S2 Climate-related Disclosures (IFRS S2) in June 2023. At the beginning of Year 2024, IFRS S2 replaced Task Force on Climate-Related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) to oversee the climate disclosures status in the world as an international standard. IFRS S2 provides a strong climate reporting framework for the Stock Exchanges to develop their own climate reporting code or guideline. Meanwhile, it gives the Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) reporting organizations another international reporting framework to disclose and enhance their climate performances. This course aims to:
- Introduce what IFRS S2 is
- Provide a comparison between IFRS S2 and HKEx new climate-related disclosure requirements
- Share the common climate reporting challenges and the way to tackle the challenges
