Course Overview
The Master of Science (MSc) Program in Environmental Health and Safety is a multidisciplinary program designed to provide springboard training to current and prospective environmental professionals. The program aims to educate students with cutting-edge knowledge in environmental health and safety, and equip them with the skills to integrate the knowledge into real life situations and identify emerging environmental problems.
Currently, this is the only environment-related MSc program in Hong Kong that focuses on health and safety issues. The curriculum covers the scientific, technical, legal and social issues that underpin environmental health practices, food safety, hazards and risks assessment, and occupational health and safety. Students will view environmental health and safety as an integral component of health protection and improvement. Graduates from the program can advance their careers in relevant government and private sectors

Part-time students may take a maximum of 9 credits in each term.
On successful completion of the program, graduates will be able to:
- Apply advanced knowledge from a variety of environmental/health related science disciplines to view environmental health in an integrated approach to improve health protection;
- Evaluate the impact of environmental stress on the health and safety of nature (ecosystems), as well as on the physical health and social well-being of humans;
- Analyze contemporary environmental health and safety issues in a local and regional context; and
- Apply and develop strategies and solutions to tackle environmental problems.
