The Cisco CCNA is one of the most widely recognized and respected qualifications in the IT industry. Every year, tens of thousands of people embark towards taking the exam via private study, Cisco Academy courses, or online training.
The sad truth is most students quit along the way, and for those few who actually do attempt it, only 50% pass. All that time, effort, and money wasted! If there are so many manuals, CBT courses, lab simulators, exam engines, and study resources out there, then what goes wrong?
This is the question Cisco trainer Paul Browning wanted to get to the bottom of. After interviewing thousands of students, he discovered that most people quit because they are simply overwhelmed with the sheer volume of material they need to digest and, of course, the large number of hands-on skills they need to be able to demonstrate in the exam. Add to that the day-to-day stresses of commuting to work, bringing up a family, and the distraction of everyday problems and challenges; it’s no wonder people quit.
This is where Cisco CCNA in 60 Days can help. Devised by four industry experts and countless Cisco students just like you, the 60-day programme breaks down every exam requirement into a daily study task. All you need to do is turn up at the relevant day (from 1 to 60), watch the theory, and complete the lab and practice exam. This method has helped tens of thousands of students study for the CCNA exam since 2006.

As a visual learner, I was glad to see images and hear the explanation la for each icon that represents the IT industry standards of symbols. Also because I just finished a routing and switching course, this course was reminiscent of gaps that needed to be filled in network security.

Two problems. 1. The presentations doesn't seem to be organized very well. For example: When fundamental terms to a concept are presented only after a concept is introduced, it makes the knowledge harder to integrate. You're learning something without its foundation settled, and that is very hard to follow. There are also concepts that are explained poorly or completely wrong. I realized this when I saw I was led astray by his explanation of portfasting (be prepared to look that one up yourself) 2. No topic is covered in great depth. Mainly sub concepts are not explained to any degree beyond their superficial definition and function. You will need another educator to round out the knowledge you learn in this course. After you pass the CCNA, you have to know the material for the job. So far, I feel like I can - barely - brute force the test with whats presented. But after the test is over, I'll either need to go back to self study or find a new teacher to be worth something on the job. To some degree, I expected this. I expected this course to be an expedited boot camp to gear you up in as little time as possible. Some things will be lost because you only have time for brevity. But I accepted that. Learn needed skills on the way, and pass the test with only the knowledge it needed in crisp detail. But this course is not that. Every. Single. Video. Was followed by me watching a different teacher on the same topic. I have no greater handle on networking thanks to this course alone. In fact, I know I didn't learn certain things properly. I would be far from ready for the test with this course alone.

This course was great.... 10 years ago. In the present era of internet education this course fails miserably. It's full on inconsistencies, has very low production value and is just simply not relevant anymore. I did enjoy the lab demonstrations however they were not enough to make the course enjoyable.
