What I can't understand is why wasn't there a platform to get the movie API from instead of relying on another .NET project to get the api movie information. Most people might not have the time or resources to start a Azure account.

This is a good course, most of the time it is focused on the backend side but it is well explained, the API that is consumed within the application is already done, I learned a lot since I do not work much with mobile applications.
