1/5 Stars: A Masterclass in Copy-Pasting If you are looking to learn Kotlin, keep looking. If you are looking to practice your Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V (but done manually) skills, this might be the course for you. Why this course fails: The "Why" is Missing: The instructor focuses entirely on what to type, but never explains why we are using specific syntax or how Kotlin’s functional features actually work. You’ll finish a section with code that runs, but zero understanding of how to recreate it from scratch. Shallow Explanations: Concepts like Null Safety, Coroutines, or Data Classes are breezed over with explanations so thin they might as well not be there. It feels like the tutor is reading a textbook they don't actually understand. Zero Active Learning: A coding course without challenges is just a movie. There are no exercises, no "pause and try it yourself" moments, and no projects to test your logic. The "Shadow" Method: You are essentially a human typewriter. You follow the cursor, copy the boilerplate, and move to the next video. Also, INSANELY OUTDATED

Brother, the way you read text that you clearly asked from AI feels like a scam. This is not okay. You are not teaching from your own mindset or experience. Students are paying to learn from you, not from AI-generated slides and text. The main issue is that the instructor does not really teach us 100%. The entire course vibes 100% AI, and that is exactly why people complain that he skips parts when students don’t fully understand something. The instructor has clearly lost his pedagogical approach. Instead of teaching like a real instructor — drawing things out, explaining step by step, and guiding the student through concepts — he relies on AI-generated images and simply reads AI-generated text. He believes that explaining slides and AI images is enough, but it’s not. That is not how real teaching works. I previously took one of his older courses, and it was much better than this one. In this course, I constantly have to skip seconds whenever he starts reading text or explaining AI images, for example when talking about MVVM or programming inheritance. I skip until he finally gets back to actual coding. Because of this, I give this course a strong 1 star. This course might be okay only for someone who worked with Android a long time ago and just wants a very quick reminder. But if you want to actually learn and understand things properly, this course fails.

This course could have been 5 stars. It offers a wealth of practical applications and is good to get you started with app development. It is made for beginners to programming, but advanced users can skip the basics and just pick up the syntax. I would prefer to get more precision in the explanations. New concepts should be made clear, rather than mentioned like "this is something a bit like xyz, you'll understand it later". Reading down a long text is not particularly helpful and neither are the AI-generated images, which are often creepy and don't make the idea stick. The bridge to a fairy tale analogy makes it all unreal. Why not just tell what it does in the code and how it can help us solve a problem? Lastly, some parts seem to be out of order. Users mentioned it in the comments already one year ago. No need to be super responsive, but fixing this should be easy.
