Create a Twitter Social Network Clone From Scratch PHP,MySQL

This was a frustrating course due to the poor design of the logic for this application. I did complete the entire course, following along and coding step by step from video to video until the end. Most of my time was spent hunting bugs in the instructors code. Not from mistakes I made but from too numerous to count errors in the logic and poor code design. You will not get a 100% functioning application strictly from watching the videos. On more than a few occasions the instructor rewrites his code from video to video. These changes were done off camera leaving you with a WTF moment. In some cases presenting completely different code than what you have to that point. EVEN following along video to video, not skipping steps but identical to the instructors. UNTIL the next video where magically things changed then later they get changed again. When you go to the source files to see about getting working code in many cases that code is different still, even from the videos. Searching the Q&A section I found on accident, in several threads where he mentions he was testing this or that but never tells anyone. You just have to stumble upon the "solutions" buried in threads, some are not on that topic or video lecture. Some resolutions come later in the course with one of several rewrites he does to make something work later on that also fixes the problem you had back in a previous video. More than once his FIXES also ended up breaking something else. I just gave up on some of the features ever working correctly. There really is no consistent standard to the code, he mixes and matches different styles throughout the course. For instance, loop syntax, I am not talking about changing type of loops going from foreach to while loops but different versions of foreach loops. There are several variations PHP allows you to write. I think one way should be chosen and stick to that don't intermingle. Someone new to PHP would have a hard time following along and get confused easily. There are so many bad practices this instructor has that I gave up trying to correct the code as I went further into the course. I am not a fan of JQuery and have no interest in ever using it. The Javascript used in this course is JQuery and not vanilla Javascript. If you are looking to learn javascript, this is NOT the course for you. In fact if you want to learn PHP this is NOT the course for you. The application though poorly designed from a coding stand point, the functionality of the site itself is a nice template for a small social media type of site. The front end html and css is copy and paste in this course with no instruction at all with the html or css. The focus is on the back end which IS the focus of this course. If your purpose is to learn how to program or just learn PHP then skip this course. You will learn bad practices and get really good at mingling your code with front end visual layout. You should ALWAYS separate your code from the visual layout and never mingle them together as done in this course. You can do it with PHP but you should not, it is bad practice and is not typical coding standards way of designing applications or sites. Leads to garbage code and nightmare debugging sessions. The only reason you would want to purchase this course is to learn how to create a twitter like social media site. The problem is the code is so poorly written you don't learn anything other than how to HATE udemy courses and wish someone would end you as you tearfully try to complete the course video by video. I am SO thankful I completed the course, it was a complete and total nightmare! I now have a site template I can rewrite from scratch using current coding standards, proper Javascript and without even looking at the html and css start a new layout design that properly works including making it fully responsive. Towards the end of the course I completely lost my understanding of what the instructor was saying. Like many in the reviews say, his accent is so strong it just gets thicker throughout the course. I just went off the file names on the tabs in his editor and had to rewind A LOT to figure out what he just did. The entire last video I just watched without coding along. The "fixes" and hack solutions are entirely due to poorly constructed logic. If the sites code was properly designed none of the problems people are having during this course would be happening and the course would be 5 hours in total. I have taken most of this instructors courses and all are same quality. For what he teaches, this instructor is one of a few on Udemy teaching these applications with PHP. I have also taken other instructors courses that have worse code than this course and overall I prefer this guy over the others. I don't see North American instructors teaching these applications on Udemy currently so...

This course is great and i am learning so much about PHP here. Honestly, i have come across many courses and i never saw the instructor so much supporting. Thanks Aizaz for solving my problems and clearing my doubts.

The course was a little difficult and took me a while to finish, but I was able to make a Twitter clone of it and I'm glad I could. Thank you!
