I think this is the best basic Java Web course for those who are beginning to learn about Java Web Application programming. It provides short and easy to understand instruction videos yet covers all the basic technology you need on the way to become a Web App developer.

Slow but thorough, very good resource. While I have some experience with Android, Spark, and a little Spring, I found this to be very helpful in my understanding of what Java servlets, beans, and JSP's are doing without any overarching framework. I liked the mySQL exercises and the JSTL was super helpful, something I'll probably start using in more of my Java projects. Thank you.

So far so good. I'm from a mainframe background and trying to get to grips with web technology so quite a big leap. John keeps the video tutorials straight to the point. The tutorials do not necessarily explore each subject in great depth but enough to get to grips with the fundamental concepts. The students can then dig a bit deeper if they wish to do so, via some complementary methods (like books maybe). The videos are absolutely fine for my level and needs so far and find them of great benefit.
