Welcome to the PHP basics for WordPress course.
This is a beginners course designed for WordPress students who would like to become WordPress developers.
WordPress as a content management system was built with PHP and its most important files as well as those of plugins and themes are coded with the scripting language. As such if you aspire to be a WordPress developer then you must learn the basics of PHP which is exactly what this course provides.

The subtitles are really bad, please get a decent transcript! Besides that, the instructor is very clear, and watching him play with the code then update the website really helps me understand the relationship between PHP and WordPress. I'm a lot more informed than I was 2 hours ago, thanks so much!

Great course, it really shows basics of wordpress development. I think it could have some more info, but it's awesome starter point with quite good pointers towards documentation, also shows of how to look at the code within the theme. I might be mistaken, but I don't think it presents the way to develop locally and than load on the server, which would be great thing to know. Also it probably would be more appropiate to show concepts of wordpress with charts or slides rather than hands, but it's ok:) Other than that - perfect.
