Data, Mapbox Studio, and Mapbox GL JS
This course is a wide survey of using Mapbox in modern web applications. It covers everything you need to know: finding and formatting data, styling and understanding the web interface of Mapbox Studio, and building truly responsive and complex web maps using the modern Mapbox GL JS.
This course assumes you come with little knowledge of programming and geographic information, and there are videos to walk you through each step. You'll learn to create big, beautiful custom maps and all the different ways your users can interact with those maps.
This course was made with a slightly different interface from what Mapbox Studio uses today, but the concepts are still recognizable and you will do well to get a strong grasp on Mapbox through this course. This is a solid foundation for building online web maps, or even making a move into building mobile apps with Mapbox, although we don't go over that specifically in this course.

It was good though to point out some of the key concepts of Mapbox. It would be great to have a course update though - this is an older course now so some parts are out of date. Also the examples were random - like just adding polygons and points to a map for illustration purposes but they didn't have any meaning. Also the different maps and layers etc used seemed quite ad hoc, there was no logical progression, just whatever came to hand first. I would have found it much easier to follow along and build a solid understanding had the examples built upon each other through the course and finally had some coherent outcome - like building a useful map through the course.

this course has sadly become outdated with new updates to Mapbox and such. but still good to learn the theory and background to things.

Speakers manner, actually more details for the technical, whilst telling the less technical not to worry about those extra details, is a very good strategy!

I really enjoyed the GL JS portion of the course, and learned a lot about the possibilities in adding click events and animation. The opening is also very insightful to understand when to use Mapbox as opposed to Leaflet (and other programs)
