In the last few decades, the web revolution has been taking over every aspect of our life. From ordering groceries to everyday banking to getting our daily news – there is hardly anything which is untouched by the latest web technologies.
In this day and age – every business large or small needs to have a web presence and tell the world about themselves. Even individuals want to express themselves by using an online medium like blogs or personal websites.
Ability to build and run these sites has become an essential skill. Of course, we can hire a designer and web developer and pay them top dollar to build our site? Even if can afford them – what happens if we need to make inevitable changes to it or refresh the look? Does this necessarily need to become a lifelong expense?
NO! modern content management systems make it very easy for anyone with little to no knowledge about technology to build, run and maintain a very attractive and functional website. One such CMS is Joomla – it is open source and completely free. And what is more – it is very mature and widely used to build thousands of web properties on the internet.
As such learning Joomla CMS will also give you added skills which are very valuable in the job market. The median income of a web developer in the US is around $73000 per year.

There aren't many review or walk throughs about Joomla, i'll give you that. your instructions were easy enough to follow but it is difficult to fully comprehend them without seeing actionable or live changes and building a site from scratch, touching base on each major section was useful, but it could have been shown in a larger context to show users what exactly they are able to build from scratch, or for new users going into to an existing site. i am the 2nd, and find Joomla a bit nerving where it doesn't feel new user friendly, and also doesn't seem friendly to fold with html/css training. thank you for the information and context you did go over.

I already know much about Joomla , but am aware that by providing others with web-sites they will need to know how they work so I am following the course to see the simple ways things are explained as I have 40 years IT experience that would tend to explain things more technically that the audience

I thought this would be a project-driven course where the instructor at least shows how to create a simple blog in Joomla. However, he spends his time talking about Joomla and its features. I feel like I learnt nothing. I do not feel like I can build a website after taking this course. I know a lot of things about Joomla. However, I do not know how to use Joomla to create a website for my needs. I will have to learn that on my own. The theory of the course is good. However, without practice it has little value.
