Getting Started with Spring Boot 2

Start building Spring Framework 5 & Spring Boot 2 applications today!

This course offers hands-on experience building Spring Framework applications using Spring Boot. The first thing that is going to stand out is that we are going to move away from the boring, non-useful demos. In the new course, we are going to build a practical application from start to finish.

While we are creating this application together we will take a look at some of the new features Spring Framework 5 & Spring Boot 2 have to offer. By taking this course you will have the latest skills that you need to build real applications using the Spring Framework.

What is Spring Boot?

Spring Boot makes it easy to create stand-alone, production-grade Spring based Applications that you can "just run".

Spring Boot takes an opinionated view of the Spring platform and third-party libraries so you can get started with minimum fuss. Most Spring Boot applications need very little Spring configuration.

This course has some drowbacks, but all in all it is great. You will build really interesting application with Spring Boot 2, wich looks like real web site with frontend. It doesn't go too deep in details and gives you fast introduction to Spring Boot. Having such experience makes you able to work as Spring Boot developer. I still use this course as a reference when I try to use some features in real projects. You have to be ready to struggle a bit, as not everything in the course is clear. I think that there are some mistakes, wich I had to find by myself to force the app work. To be honest I didn't manage to configure sending emails in AWS. All other content of the course I completed. It worth your time for sure. Thanks Dan Vega for this course and for the great course documentation.

It's a good course for people without knowledge on springboot. Sometimes there are some topics you need to figure out by yourself, but that's part of developers life!

Great course which gives a marvellous introduction to Spring Boot. As a bonus, you are also introduced to Thymeleaf for templating, H2 and MySql for DB access and Amazon AWS for the production environment. The great thing about this course is you get to build a web application from start to finish. You do need to do your own investigations and reading to add to the information that Dan gives to ensure you have a proper understanding of what works and why. Another good thing is that Dan is not afraid to show when things don't go as expected. That is so comforting to see that you're not the only one who gets things wrong. :-)
