Markdown is among the hottest trends today. Almost anything that has to do with technical writing is using Markdown for editing. The reason is simple; Markdown is very easy, less verbose than HTML and yet very powerful.
Whether you are a technical writer, a developer, a DevOps engineer, or anyone who sees the potential of using Markdown for technical writing, this course was created specifically for you.
This class is divided into two main parts. The first one covers Markdown's syntax. For example, how Markdown deals with headers, how to insert tables, hyperlinks, images, how to create tables and more.
The second part of this course is about the practical use of Markdown. We cover three of the most well-known applications that rely on Markdown:
- Obsidian - the famous note-taking app
- Hugo - The blazingly fast state website generator (don't worry if you don't know what that is. We cover it in detail in an entire lecture).
- Ghost - A content management system like WordPress but it relies on Markdown for writing posts.
