Course Overview

Headless WordPress REST API Authentication

Learn how to connect decoupled websites and applications with WordPress using JWT Auth and JavaScript

Many developers and top agencies have learned how to use WordPress as a headless CMS, where WordPress stores the content, but Modern JavaScript driven websites and applications display the content and provide customized interactivity.

One of the key components to using WordPress as a Headless CMS involves authenticating to allow full read, write and delete access to everything the WordPress REST API provides.

In this course you will learn the following:

  • The different types of authentication available

  • How to work with the JWT Authentication Standard

  • How to setup WordPress to offer authentication

  • How to write secure JavaScript to authenticate

  • How to build login and logout forms

  • How to add, edit and delete content using authenticated WordPress REST API calls

Throughout the course we will build a custom decoupled project using simple JavaScript, but all of the code can be easily converted over to work with React, Vue, Angular and other JavaScript frameworks.

where is the zero-star in rating ? this is a course not planned and have no value. the authentication is done by plugin not by us(why making a course if your just gonna use someone else code, just put it as a free Youtube video). The whole course is wasted seeing him create FE using vanilla JS !! why?! this is a course to teach authentication, why waste all the time to create worthless FE using JS (why did you not create the FE off the camera ? ) All in all, this is a waste of money and especially time.

Only 25 minutes on the authentication itself. The rest is JS exploiting WP-API or cpîer/coller from the JWT Authentication for WP REST API plugin documentation.

Great value for money. I was worried that the course might be outdated, rest assured, it is not! This course is still very practical and useful in 2023. Cheers!
