Course Overview

Energy Infrastructure Mapping with Python & Geopandas

Analyze Pipelines, Power Grids & Interconnectors from Nord Stream to Belt & Road

EXTRAS

There are entire books and hundreds of papers & Python models available to download in my Skool community. I also have Financial Times articles , and over 100 online courses on Python modelling of energy markets, energy investments  etc.

I also post job opportunities for the wider energy sector.

The value is immense!

I also do supervision which means when you start learning a course, you can message me as many questions as you need, any time e.g. daily.

This link below offers 7 days free access to this Skool community. No obligation to pay anything in advance. At the end of the 7- day period, you can decide whether you want to continue at $25/month or just cancel and leave.
Honestly, the $25/month is a very generous price . You will realise it once you join. Universities , colleges, would charge thousands! This is really a unique opportunity of immense value, at a really low cost!

REGULAR ENHANCEMENTS:

Course reviewed periodically with updates.

What You'll Learn:

  • How to perform geospatial analysis using Python and Geopandas for energy infrastructure mapping

  • How to visualize and analyze gas pipelines including Nord Stream, TurkStream, and EastMed using real geographic data

  • How to map electricity interconnectors across Europe including Viking, BritNed, NeuConnect, and IFA systems

  • How to plot and analyze energy networks in any region from Eastern Mediterranean to South Asia

  • How to model China's Belt and Road Initiative energy corridors using both Basemap and Folium

  • How to create linear and nonlinear connections between energy nodes for network analysis

  • How to troubleshoot Geopandas installation issues and optimize geospatial workflows

  • How to combine technical infrastructure analysis with geopolitical context for strategic insights

Perfect For:

  • Energy analysts mapping infrastructure networks and cross-border connections

  • Infrastructure planners in utilities and government agencies

  • Energy economists analyzing regional market integration

  • Consultants advising on pipeline and interconnector projects

  • Policy advisors working on energy security and resilience

  • Graduate students in energy systems, geography, or environmental science

  • GIS specialists focusing on energy and utilities

  • Anyone analyzing global energy infrastructure and geopolitics

Why This Matters:

Energy infrastructure determines economic competitiveness, national security, and climate outcomes. The $130 trillion energy transition requires optimizing existing pipelines and grids while building new renewable connections. Understanding spatial relationships between energy assets is critical - from assessing stranded asset risks to planning hydrogen corridors. Recent events (Nord Stream sabotage, energy weaponization, supply chain disruptions) prove that infrastructure mapping skills are essential for risk assessment and strategic planning. Companies and governments need professionals who can visualize complex energy networks, analyze bottlenecks, and evaluate geopolitical vulnerabilities. Whether mapping LNG terminals, renewable energy zones, or critical minerals supply chains, these skills position you for roles in energy consulting ($100,000-180,000), infrastructure planning ($90,000-150,000), and strategic analysis ($120,000-200,000+). Master the tools used by the IEA, major utilities, and energy ministries worldwide.

It' quite good, if not a bit too fast. And I think it'd be better if you had told us where to find the Turkey data first (I had to find it on my own)

The course offers a mix of technical skills and geopolitical insights, and in my opinion this makes it highly relevant to current global issues.
