I am so attentive and really enjoying myself. Been interacting and practicing with my audacity interface plus i am recording way better quality audio than with OBS Studio (I thought my $100 microphone was the problem but turns out it works well with audacity) I am feeling great so far....

This course is perfect if you have never used Audacity before as it tells you the basics. When I say basic, I mean BASIC! It starts with how to download it and firstly goes through everything you can see on the toolbar but with no depth. If you have a rough idea about how to use Audacity this course is not for you. There were maybe 3 things that I can take from this course which will help me in the future, which isn’t great in comparison to what I wanted to learn. What I was hoping for was a course that has examples and explains what every part does, what to do if you don't get the result you are looking for, what the effect or edit you make does to the audio and how it changes the sound of it and I wanted to learn some actual facts about audio editing itself ,such as; technical terms for effects I am using or things I am editing, if I change the speed how do I change the pitch of it so it sounds normal, and so on. Unfortunately, the gentleman teaching you through this course is not actually using Audacity whilst he is speaking to you. He is reading from a script which makes it seem he doesn’t have an in depth knowledge on how to use this software and I personally don’t want to be taught by someone who is just reading from a textbook. They never actually show you what each edit does to your audio, so you have no clue if you have done it correct. ALSO, and this is very important! They are using an older version of Audacity therefore it can be confusing to the audience. It needs updating. They say you can create professional audio after taking this course, but this is not true, you will most likely still need to search for a deeper explanation of things they have mentioned. The course is split up into 3 sections; the 1st being the introduction, 2nd being the basic course and the 3rd is the advanced course. Now this “advanced course” is very much not advanced and is just a repeat of a lot of things from section 2, things they could add at the end of the course as quick helpful reminders or could be put into section 2 as it is also very basic. However, the 3rd section is very useful to help you with understanding what basic technology you need to start your own recording and gives you an understanding about how to upload your audio in different formats or even onto different platforms. It also has useful information about recording other platforms, such as Skype and Facebook live. As an overall I would say this course is acceptable to someone who has no knowledge of Audacity and is helpful to guide anyone on how to download and use it to edit a podcast and maybe a few other forms of audio. If you have any knowledge of Audacity, I suggest a different course or look on YouTube for an advanced video that goes into more depth.

I am not a beginner. Honestly, I just needed to have a certification in Audacity to prove that I know what I am doing. However, it was very nice to go back to the basics and pick up on things that I didn't know. for instance, shortcuts, hotkeys and functions that will speed up my workflow.
