Participants from various linguistic backgrounds take up the challenge of mastering the RP accent. What changes can we make to help them achieve this?
We'll start by looking at the basics of the speech mechanisms and how they can be manipulated to achieve a more natural British English accent. This includes a review of the International Phonetic Alphabet and the vowel sound chart, which will be used to analyze the sounds of Received Pronunciation throughout the course.
In Part I of the course, you'll be introduced to the tools we'll use to study the sounds of Received Pronunciation. Then, in the following chapters, we'll meet six diverse students, including Agata, Tatjana, Kat, Magali, Francesco, Jenna, Kelsea and Ayumu, as they embark on their journey to achieve an authentic British RP accent.
As the course progresses, you'll see each student's transformations as they work to improve their British English pronunciation. From vowel training exercises to sentence practice and tongue twisters, each participant will be given tasks that will help identify their weaknesses and seek remedies.
Before filming, each participant underwent training to familiarize themselves with the International Phonetic Alphabet and the vowel sound chart.

I really enjoyed the course and started noticing progress already halfway through. I never really paid attention to pronunciation before, but here it’s clearly explained where in the mouth the sounds come from and how to actually make them. That really helped me with my pronunciation. The teacher really knows his stuff and explains everything in a simple and clear way, which makes it super easy to follow.
