Lots of Chinese learners are excited about learning to speak Chinese, but when it comes to learning how to read or write Chinese, they're a lot less enthusiastic.  The reason for that is that Chinese characters unfairly get accused of being "too hard" or "impossible" to learn.  But is that really the case?  Nope, absolutely not!

Think about it this way:  Imagine trying to learn to read English words without having first learned the 26 letters of the alphabet.  That would make learning to read English seem impossible, right?  Well, just like English words are made up of smaller parts we call "letters", Chinese characters are made up of smaller parts called "radicals", and many characters make up parts of other characters, kind of like English has root words that make up the heart of many other words.

In this class, we'll teach you some of the parts that make up Chinese characters and show you how they fit together with other parts.  By the end of the class, you'll how to recognize and pronounce 326 common Chinese characters by looking at the smaller parts that make them up and how they relate to other characters.  We do it all by using a interesting and entertaining visuals and hints to help you remember the meaning of each character you learn.  Not only that, but you'll also learn well over 1000 words and phrases that contain those characters!
