An Adventure Exploring The Czech Republic In The Eyes Of The Czech Language
Welcome, all curious learners and world travelers!
Are you planning on moving to the Czech Republic and you have little or no experience with its language? Are you going to spend some time traveling or studying in the Czech Republic? Or is your partner Czech and you wish to understand his or her culture and language?
The Czech language is beautiful and worth exploring (Elvish-like, I dare to say!). You get to enjoy the rich culture of the Czech Republic when you order your food or ride the public transportation. In the meantime you will get to experience the beautiful constructs of the language. You will realize that my course is fun, light, yet very informative!
I am a passionate and experienced instructor. Those who learn with me end up mastering the language and appreciate the Czech Republic as a country and a culture.
Here are some testimonies of a few students of mine:
“Zuzka is an excellent teacher. Czech is a complicated language, but she teaches it step by step and always considers the interest of the student. The structure of her lessons allows the student to repeat what has been learned and then focus on something new.”
– Kristina from Germany
“Zuzka is vibrant, fun, and knowledgeable. My daughter is an English speaker of Czech descent taking Czech lessons with Zuzka - she truly enjoys them. Highly recommend!”
– Ivana from the United States
“Zuzka is a professional, highly educated, and amazingly talented Czech teacher. She is very patient and always gives you positive feedback. She never fails to bring her smile to each lesson. After just a few months of learning with her, I am amazed at how much I can understand the Czech speakers around me. “
– Abdeen from Canada

Zuzka is enthusiastic about teaching and gives clear explanations throughout her lessons with plenty of practice built in to reinforce the material. I have been trying to study Czech for a while, but her lessons are the first to make me feel that I’m truly making progress in understanding and speaking the language.

Very hard work for me so far as I need to do each section 2 or 3 times. However, it does sink in after a few days. I have gone from zero knowledge at the beginning to understanding quite a bit. Will also try to find Czech tv programmes on the web to watch to develop an ear for the numbers which I find hard still to hear.

Zuzka is an amazing teacher. She is strict, but very pleasant and her visual aids are simple but very effective. Initially Czech grammar and sentence order made no sense and drove me up the wall, when I encountered in on other resources such as Duolingo. However Zuzka gave a solid explanation and things began to fall into place. Zuzka is also very positive, and has a can do attitude. She made me realise my approach in language learning in the past was wrong, seeing it more as a chore rather than taking the time to enjoy learning. I am a native English speaker and had never previously learned a secondary language. I learned a little bit of Czech when I was an exchange student in Prague but not too much. I used this course, Zuzka's ebook Just In Case and Duolingo as a main backbone for Czech language learning over the last 10 months. I finished this course 2 months ago however wanted to wait until I went back to the Czech Republic for a visit before leaving a review. I took a holiday to Brno and Prague last weekend and realised, I had severely underestimated how much Czech I had learned. I could read essentially all the large signs, street names and menus. I can't read everything in longer paragraphs e.g. at tourist attractions but I can read keywords and if I think long enough can usually get a picture that resembles the English translation. I could also understand snippets of conversations. Thanks for putting together such a great course and for any other perspective students, I highly recommend taking this course.
