This course is a good attempt, but it falls short in delivering real value. Being a native speaker does not necessarily make someone a good teacher or course creator, and unfortunately, this is evident here. 1) Too Much Focus on Exam Overview, Not Enough on Writing Skills While the course includes multiple lessons, it ultimately just explains the exam structure, what to expect, and the marking criteria—information that is widely available online for free. Instead of diving deep into writing techniques, it spends too much time on things that students can easily Google. 2) Where Are the Actual Writing Lessons? The biggest issue is the lack of real instruction on how to write. There are writing samples with brief comments, but no proper lessons on: How to structure an essay How to develop logical paragraphs What to include in each paragraph How to write strong topic sentences How to support ideas with examples How to express opinions effectively These are essential writing skills, and their absence makes the course feel incomplete. 3) Excessive mentioning of Paid Materials The course repeatedly tells you which materials to buy, with links included—again and again. We got the message the first time, so why waste valuable lesson time on constant mentionining of the materials? 4) Poor Audio and Reused Content In the middle of lectures, there are random extractions from other videos (likely from the creator’s YouTube channel) with terrible audio quality. This feels unprofessional and disrupts the learning experience. Overall, a Disappointment This course could have been a great resource, but instead, it lacks depth, structure, and real guidance. If you’re looking for actual writing instruction, this might not be the best choice.
