The course basically teaches you alphabet, how to read words and gives a couple of examples of entry-level words and phrases. It would be the best way to start learning Greek if half of videos didn't lack subtitles. This was the selling feature for me: lectures are in Greek + both English and Greek subtitles are shown at the same time. But after I bought the course I found out that half of the videos don't have subtitles at all and a complete beginner like me simply doesn't understand a word.

In the early lessons 1-6 I had some concerns that I might not be up to the task. From the outset my goal was to know the greek letters that is recognize the characters and more quickly key them in order to do word studies only. Now after lesson 7 I am by far more hopeful that I will pronounce words in order to converse with others in my studies, which is certain to lead to reading phrases then sentences and so on. The Lord willing Im here for the long haul.

This is by far the best way to learn a new language, by immersion. The teacher is a native Greek speaker and she teaches the coarse mostly in Greek, but shows the English equivalents. I am looking forward to learning the remaining lessons.
