Course Information
Course Overview
How to Use the Sage Accounting Software
This course is designed to help existing and aspiring bookkeepers be familiar with the basic usage of Sage 50 (Canadian Edition) accounting software. The content of this course will walk you through various Sage 50 processes and functionalities, including inputting data, invoicing, paying bills, and more. The lessons in this course provide both a theoretical and practical approach.
In the first few sections of the course, we will discuss about the interface, menu, functionalities, modules and icons displayed on the Sage 50 window. The rest of the section will be a practical approach in which you will be shown how to enter financial transactions, and create financial reports, using resources and examples that you will most likely encounter in real life once you're out there in the working field.
I'd like to point out as well that having a basic understanding of the accounting principles is going to make learning this software easier. That being said, feel free to check out my other course called "Bookkeeping for Canadians."
At the end of the course, you will find yourself more confident and comfortable in using the Sage 50 software and any similar accounting software out there. As this is a slightly lengthy course, it is important to take your time and absorb every lesson. Having a learning plan that you can make for yourself will set you up for success.

Good overview, but lacking depth in key areas This course provides a solid overview of Sage 50 navigation and helped me find my bearings within the software. While the training was recorded in 2022, most of the content is still relevant, with only minor changes in the interface or features since then. That said, I would have appreciated more in-depth coverage of the software’s capabilities particularly around project management, payment integrations and Microsoft 365 features, which were not addressed. These are important aspects for users looking to take full advantage of Sage 50 in a professional context. Overall, the course served as a helpful introduction, but it left me wanting more detail to confidently use the software to its full potential.
