Free tutorials on Youtube and Unity learn are way better, have more content and equal or better code quality. Save your money and your time and get another course. This one also is abandoned by the author, so don't expect any help here.

1) there's less teaching and more just showing, without explaining what the different pieces of code are doing. It should have been made much more apparent that there was a basic knowledge of C# required. 2) The code provided in the course materials simply doesn't work. I've plugged the provided code in when I thought I had done something wrong, and the errors persist. I don't know if this is because the course is taught with Unity 2017 and Visual Studio 2017, but it's super frustrating to not have the provided code work as a learning reference. 3) The Discord link has been disabled. 4) The course instructor doesn't respond to messages.

The course was overall good but there were a few things missing from the course that weren't explained such as making sure you add an object and fuction to the "On Click ()" section of the "ToMainScene" button during the Death Menu tutorial.

This course provides a pleasant intro to top down 2D game. The lessons are simplistic but were able to convey core information for the aspiring game maker to expand from those ideas to build their own version. I look forward for new similar lessons from the instructor if he still lurks on Udemy.
