Course Overview

Surfacing a Datsun 240Z with Rhino 3D Level 2

Level 2 design classe from Rhino 3D Tutorials

This Level 2 course is an in depth lesson on creating surfaces using the Datsun 240 Z as a subject. This course is recommended for users already familiar with Rhino 3D's working environment and tools.

We will explore in depth 3D surfacing, using Rhino V6 . However, any version of Rhino is satisfactory and you will be able to follow along.

Rendering will be done, firstly, using Rhino Render Cycles and then I will demonstrate using Vray for Rhino ( Vray 3.4 or later ).

I will cover the importance of having ''clean curves'' and how it impacts on your surfaces quality. This will provide the student strong surfacing skills that will enable him or her to tackle any subject in total confidence.

We will focus on NURBS surfacing exclusively as this is an important technique used for not only design but also manufacturing.

If you do not own a Rhino license it is still possible for you to take this course. All you need to do is go to the official Rhino 3D website and download the trial version, which is good for 3 months. After 3 months you can still use the software, however you won't be able to save your work.

This course is an intermediate level, therefore if you are a complete beginner I would advise you take my FOUNDATION class which is also available on Udemy.

This is a good course. It is a nice step up from the most popular of his courses - rhino beginner to intermediate. Unfortunately however, the instructor uses a paid addon on multiple occasions, which somewhat defeats the purpose of certain sections in the course in my opinion. In practice, this means that a couple of videos (out of 60+) are, in my opinion, useless and do not provide any necessary information.

One chapter, believe it is 27, the sound is out of sync with the video. It's extremely confusing. Also chapter 35 is an exact repeat of chapter 34.

This course is ~really~ good! I'm learning a lot. The examples are excellent. The pace and presentation, along with the explanations are, is really well done.
