Course Overview

Introduction to Robotics - Learn through Development

Build an innovative crawling robot from scratch to learn robotics basics: kinematics, sensors, electric drives, Arduino

The field of robotics is exploding with opportunities. The incredible innovations in robotics are made possible thanks to a combination of knowledge and skill. If you’re keen on building intelligent robots in the future, you may be wondering what fundamentals you should learn. You’re in the right place!

Welcome to the introductory robotics course by Lesics. To be a successful robotics engineer, you must gain knowledge in four different but interconnected fields: kinematics, sensors and controllers, electrical motors, and coding. This course will place equal importance on all four fields and provide you with the basics needed to get started on robotics development. In this Arduino-based robotics course, you will not only have access to informative videos but will also actively build an innovative robot with us.

In this course we will develop a crawling robot that imitates the motion of a caterpillar. We will start with a simple design, but end up with a stylish and multipurpose robot design. We will also feed this robot some intelligence. We will take you through all the struggles and triumphs a robot developer experiences along the journey to achieving a final working robot. During this journey, you will automatically learn many fundamental things you need to know in becoming a successful robot developer. You can look forward to catching a small glimpse of humanoid robots as well as exploring some of the most successful robots on the market.

Lesics welcomes you to the course – we hope you enjoy it!

The course was advertised as an intro to robotics course, but it presents as an intro course for people who are already into robotics. It doesn’t go into depth at explaining elements that are important.
