I learned a lot about video editing from this course. I've used Blender video editing before but I had not fully explored most of the features until now. I looking forward to creating videos from my future blender projects.

I thought this was a good course for learning mostly the basics of Blender's Video Editing features but personally I thought the course was a little over hyped regarding Blender's ability to make videos. I think you can get a good looking but basic video. Nothing in the course suggested you could do much better than the basics. Maybe a bit more of a deep dive into transitions and effects would've elevated the course's usefulness. But I think the issue is while Blender does have a good video editing section, it's underwhelming compared to such tools as Resolve. Right, Blender is a 3D modeling tool, and fantastic at that. But to make the Video Editor up to Blender's standards, they got to do more with it. However, I would say keep at it but spend most of their developing time on the modeling features as that's Blender's forte. For video editing I'm going to use Resolve.

Coming from Final Cut Pro, I was really pleased with this course! It's excellent in length – each episode is a manageable bite. I found little fluff. I studied using Blender 4.4; the only thing that's really changed is the I/K shortcuts for keyframing - but otherwise it's virtually the same, so the course is still current and relevant. I appreciate two things in particular: repetition of learned concepts (especially during the project stage), and that teaser of Python scripting (for removing gaps between videos) which hints greatly at Blender's true power for video editing. I was able to use the Video Sequencer effectively almost immediately the same day I started learning with this course, coming from almost-zero Blender knowledge (aside from whatever knowledge I could transfer from FCP). My workflow and speed have much to improve, but I'm able to get videos out already, which pleases me. Great course! Would recommend it to anyone who wants to get their feet wet with Blender quickly.
