Course Overview

English for tour guides

Become a more successful tour guide and stand out from the very beginning of your tours.

Become more than just a walking encyclopedia or the driver who knows stuff.

No matter where you live or work, as a tour guide you should be able to speak English correctly to make your tours more engaging and to communicate your ideas well (especially if you work in a non-English speaking country!) Being able to start and keep a conversation going with your clients will make you stand out from the very beginning. Travelers will feel safer and more comfortable just by knowing that their tour guides can speak English well.

Is this another course to learn English?

There are lots of courses where you can learn English from scratch. While this course allows you to review some basic grammar structures and key vocabulary, this course is designed for tour guides who have a basic understanding of English already.

What you will learn here is phrases and vocabulary that you can use right away while giving a tour. These phrases will make you sound like a natural while also making your clients feel more comfortable with you. This will allow your tours to be more engaging and entertaining too!

What makes this course different?

This course is focused on the everyday work of a tour guide and was created by a licensed tour guide in Mexico who also holds an English teaching degree from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). Therefore, all the materials were created based on real-life examples that have proven to be useful and that you can use immediately.

This course covers a wide range of different topics. Including giving directions from a car, greeting clients in the airport, pointing out specific details on important buildings, apologizing when necessary, how to start stories, and much more. There are over 30 topics in total!

Original materials made from scratch to make the learning experience fun and easy to check when necessary.

In addition to the videos, each unit has additional resources to make the learning process easy. Complete these activities whenever it is convenient for you. You just need a laptop or your cellphone. They also are designed to be completed at your own pace; so you can practice while you have a break waiting for your clients or when you are home. You will also find easy-to-follow and concise videos and fun games to reinforce the phrases and vocabulary studied in the units.

Lastly, even though there is a suggested order to see the videos, you can watch them in any order and the learning experience won't change. You decide what you want to study and when.

Ich würde den Kurs auf alle Fälle empfehlen. Klar, manches weiß man - aber Wiederholung ist die Mutter der Weisheit! Er schadet auf alle Fälle nicht und ist bezahlbar!!
