Course Information
Course Overview
Model a Chemical Process via simulation. Build your process with heat exchanger, separation processes, streams, etc.
This is simple course on Plant Simulation will show you how to model the most used and common unit operations present in a chemical plant.
We will model a small plant including several "basic" unit operations such as:
- Pump
- Reactor
- Valve
- Heater
- Distillation Column
- Flash
This is helpful for students, teachers, engineers and researchers in the area of R&D and Plant Design/Operation.
The course is didactic, with a lot of applied theory and Workshops/Study cases.
At the end of the course you will be able to setup a simple
simulation, run it, get results such as heat duty, composition of
streams, overall material and energy balances and some other specified
unit operation parameters.
This is recommended specially for those willing to start their journey on their simulation/modeling via software career.

This course is very helpful for people especially those who are new to aspen plus. Concepts are explained in quite a concise manner. Also I guess it would be better if you add a self case study like the ones in Basic process modelling. Nevertheless, really enjoyed the course :) .

It was a great course to start learning about basic aspen plus modeling

As a chemical engineer who has already had experiences with HYSYS, I really enjoyed this course. Everything is easy to understand, especially if students have a chemical engineering background. If I am forced to find a fault, I will just say that some THEORETICAL concepts are not clearly explained. Thanks :)

I found this course very neatly set up and clearly explained. I had a very basic understanding of ASPEN before this course but i am learning so much already from this course ! Looking forward to doing the other advanced courses.
