Using Autodesk's Maya, get a comprehensive look at animating a non-humanoid creature as we animate this raptor model!
In this course, instructor Prantik Madhukalya gives us a comprehensive look at his process for animating a non-humanoid creature. Here he will cover some basic rig functionality, scene layout, as well as walk through the layout, blocking, and polish stages of the animation process.
The pre-rigged character is also available as part of the course for you to practice with! (Students - please look under Section 1 / Lecture 1 downloads for the character to use with the lesson.)
More about the Instructor:
Prantik Madhukalya is a professional character animator currently living in Mumbai and working on Various Animated Series and DVD films. He holds a Bachelors in Animation and Multimedia from Picasso Animation College with Centennial College collaboration and has a skill set that includes 3D character animation, classical 2D animation, storyboard creation, Rigging, Skinning, and Hair/Fur systems.

O conteúdo do curso é bom, o professor tem conhecimento técnico porém o curso é curto, daria para ir com mais calma durante as sessões e se aprofundar um pouco mais. Isso vindo de um intermediário na animação 3D. Seria um bom workshop, eu recomendo.

As an intermediate animator, this was really hard to follow even with the basic foundation of knowing how to animate. For instance, In Lecture Blocking 3 you said you repeated the run cycle with the legs again, then as viewers show us how you did it step by step. Another instance was in Lecture Blocking 2, you keep changing keys and moving things around without letting the audience know at which keyframes you're making these changes or why. Had to keep going back and forth trying to replicate what you were doing and what you meant.
