Course Information
Course Overview
Learn the basics of Marvelous Designer
Marvelous Designer is a cloth simulation program which is used to create dynamic 3D clothing for games, films, 3D art, and 3D animations.
In the real-world, clothing patterns are what seamstresses use to create clothes.
They trace patterns, draft patterns, cut clothing fabric according to patterns, and then sew the patterns together. Every clothing item is made from clothing patterns.
To create 3D clothes in Marvelous Designer, one also needs to create digital clothing patterns.
For people who do not know how to sew and how to draft patterns, creating clothes patterns in Marvelous Designer can be challenging.
In this project based course you will learn the basics of Marvelous Designer where we'll explore the process of creating garments, you’ll learn the basic tools in the program and how to use them properly.
Once you understand the basics of how to create patterns for various clothes, you can easily create any clothes you want in Marvelous Designer.
Students will learn how to create accessories and materials. Finally, students will discover posing and animation, and uncover ways to improve the final outcome of your garment.
By the end of this course, students will have a solid understanding of the Marvelous Designer interface and tools, and sculpting or modeling from scratch.

Good course - some experimentation required due to an old version being used. But that is solvable and good for the learning process. Overall a very solid foundation to build upon. Thank you!

I was using a trial version of the software. I wasn't sure if the course was for a newer or older version of Marvelous or whether my trial version was incomplete as the UI was different and some of the assets used in the course weren't available or some of the functions either had a different name or weren't present, however I found ways around that through trial and error and found the majority of the course very articulate, easy to follow and incredibly helpful. Overall this course is a great foundation to learn from and would recommend it, but I would also caution that the version I used is slightly different to the one in three tutorial and maybe the course could either update or make an adjustment for that.

When i read the comments i saw that many people complaint about the software version, but there's nothing to do about it, it's impossible to upgrade for every version. But if you are a little bit familiar with this kind of softwares such as 3ds max, zbrush, photoshop, you can find a way, even if the software version and menus are different. I really struggled about holding the fabric with a pin and mount it on air while making the buttons, because it was different at new version but after some google search i found the way to do it. For conclusion i learned many things of a new software from scratch, thank you...

Very straight-forward course that explains the basics of the program. I didn't have the exact same version of the program, the preset materials had different names on my side, but I will still able to learn the basics despite that. It also helped that the intructor kept some mistakes that might happen while working with the program, and how to solve them. Good course to take if you want a quick introduction of the basics of Marvelous Designer.
