CompTIA A+ 220-1201 Core 1 V15: 900 Practice Questions 2026

CompTIA A+ 220-1201 Core 1 - V15 | 2026 | 900 Questions Across 6 Exams | Detailed Explanations | V15 Objectives | 2026

Passing the CompTIA A+ Core 1 (220-1201) V15 exam is a significant step towards launching or advancing your career in IT support. Whether you are aiming for your first help desk role, a desktop support position, or a field service technician job, the A+ certification validates that you have the practical knowledge employers are looking for.

But knowing the material and performing under exam conditions are two very different things. That is exactly the gap these practice exams are designed to close.

This course contains six complete practice exams, each with 150 carefully crafted questions — giving you a total of 900 unique, exam-standard questions to work through before sitting your real exam. Every single question has been written from scratch to align with the official CompTIA A+ 220-1201 V15 exam objectives, and every question is mapped to a specific exam domain so you can identify your strengths and weaknesses with precision.

Why these practice exams stand out:

These are not recycled or reworded questions from older exam versions. Every question in this series has been purpose-built for the 220-1201 V15 syllabus, reflecting the latest exam objectives published by CompTIA. The questions are scenario-driven and written to mirror the tone, complexity, and cognitive level you will encounter on exam day — including recall, application, analysis, and troubleshooting-style questions.

Each of the six practice exams follows the exact domain weighting specified by CompTIA:

Mobile Devices — 13% Networking — 23% Hardware — 25% Virtualisation and Cloud Computing — 11% Hardware and Network Troubleshooting — 28%

This means that every practice exam you take gives you a realistic preview of how topics are distributed on the actual test. You will never be caught off guard by the balance of content.

Explanations that actually teach:

Every answer option — correct and incorrect — comes with an in-depth explanation. These are not brief, one-line justifications. Each explanation breaks down the reasoning behind the answer, reinforces the underlying concept, and connects it to a real-world IT support scenario. If you get a question wrong, the explanation alone should teach you what you need to know to get it right next time.

Zero repetition across all 900 questions:

One of the most common complaints about practice exam products is encountering the same concept tested in slightly different ways across multiple sets. In this series, every question tests a unique angle of the syllabus. There are no reworded duplicates, no recycled scenarios, and no overlapping question stems. You get 900 genuinely distinct learning opportunities.

Balanced answer distribution:

The correct answers are evenly distributed across all four answer positions (A, B, C, D) within each practice exam. This eliminates any pattern-based guessing advantage and trains you to evaluate every option on its own merits — just as you will need to on exam day.

Built for timed practice:

Each 150-question practice exam can be split into timed sessions to simulate the pressure of the real exam (90 questions in 90 minutes). Practising under time constraints builds the pacing instincts and decision-making confidence that separate well-prepared candidates from those who simply know the material but struggle with the clock.

WHAT YOU'LL LEARN

  • Identify and troubleshoot common hardware issues involving motherboards, RAM, CPUs, power supplies, and storage devices, applying real-world diagnostic reasoning.

  • Configure and support mobile devices, including wireless connectivity, Bluetooth pairing, MDM policies, and synchronisation settings.

  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of TCP/UDP ports, protocols, and the networking fundamentals tested on the 220-1201 exam.

  • Compare networking hardware devices, cable types, and connectors, and understand when and where each is used in SOHO and enterprise environments.

  • Explain virtualisation concepts including hypervisor types, containers, and virtual desktop infrastructure, as well as cloud computing models and characteristics.

  • Troubleshoot video, display, projector, and printer issues using systematic approaches aligned with industry best practices.

  • Apply IP addressing concepts, including IPv4, IPv6, APIPA, subnetting, and DHCP configuration, within small office/home office network scenarios.

  • Diagnose network connectivity problems including intermittent wireless issues, slow speeds, high latency, jitter, and authentication failures.

  • Evaluate your exam readiness across all five domains and identify specific knowledge gaps before sitting the real exam.

REQUIREMENTS

  • No prior certification is required, but candidates should have a foundational understanding of IT support concepts before attempting these practice exams

  • CompTIA recommends 12 months of hands-on experience in an IT support specialist job role as preparation for the 220-1201 exam

  • Ideally, you should have already completed a primary study resource (textbook, video course, or instructor-led training) covering the 220-1201 V15 objectives before using these practice exams

  • A stable internet connection and access to the Udemy platform (desktop, mobile, or tablet)

  • No additional software, hardware, or lab access is required to complete the practice exams

HOW TO USE THESE PRACTICE EXAMS

Step 1: Complete Your Core Study First These practice exams are designed as a validation and reinforcement tool, not a standalone study resource. Work through your primary course material, textbook, or lab exercises before starting.

Step 2: Take Practice Exam 1 as a Baseline Complete the first practice exam under timed conditions without referring to notes. This gives you an honest benchmark of where you stand across all five domains.

Step 3: Review Every Explanation — Even for Correct Answers After completing each exam, go through every question and read all four explanations. The explanations for incorrect options are just as valuable as the correct ones, as they reinforce related concepts and clarify common misconceptions.

Step 4: Identify Your Weak Domains Use your results to pinpoint which domains need the most attention. If you scored below 70% in Networking or Hardware Troubleshooting, go back to your primary study materials and revisit those specific objectives before moving on.

Step 5: Progress Through Exams 2–5 with Targeted Study Take one practice exam at a time, studying your weak areas between each attempt. You should see a measurable improvement in your scores as you progress through the series.

Step 6: Use Practice Exam 6 as Your Final Readiness Check Save the last practice exam as your final simulation. Take it under strict timed conditions (aim for 90 questions in 90 minutes to match the real exam pace). If you are consistently scoring above 80% across all domains, you are in a strong position to sit the real exam.

Step 7: Retake and Revise Return to any practice exams where you scored below your target. Focus on understanding the reasoning behind each answer rather than memorising specific questions.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q: Are these questions the same as the real CompTIA A+ exam?

A: No. These are original practice questions written independently to align with the official CompTIA A+ 220-1201 V15 exam objectives. They are designed to test the same knowledge areas, at a similar difficulty level, using the same question styles — but they are not sourced from, affiliated with, or endorsed by CompTIA. No legitimate practice exam product contains actual exam questions.

Q: How do these practice exams differ from the previous 220-1101 version?

A: These practice exams are written specifically for the 220-1201 V15 exam objectives, which include updated content and revised domain structures compared to the previous 220-1101 version. If you are sitting the new V15 exam, you need practice materials aligned to the new syllabus.

Q: Is 900 questions too many? Will I just be memorising answers?

A: With zero overlap across all 900 questions, memorisation is not a risk. Each question tests a unique concept, scenario, or angle of the syllabus. The purpose of having six exams is to give you comprehensive coverage of the entire breadth of the objectives, plus enough repetition of domains (not questions) to build genuine understanding.

Q: What score should I aim for before booking the real exam?

A: If you are consistently scoring above 80% across multiple practice exams, you are in a strong position. The official passing score is 675 out of 900, but practice exam scores do not translate directly to real exam scores. Use your results to gauge domain-level confidence rather than fixating on an exact number.

Q: Do these practice exams include performance-based questions (PBQs)?

A: The Udemy platform supports multiple-choice format. While the real exam includes performance-based questions, these practice exams focus on the multiple-choice component with scenario-driven questions that test the same applied knowledge and troubleshooting skills you will need for PBQs.

Q: Can I use these practice exams as my only study resource?

A: These practice exams are designed as a validation and reinforcement tool, not a complete learning resource. You should first study the material through a textbook, video course, or hands-on lab work, and then use these exams to test your knowledge, identify gaps, and build exam confidence.

Q: How are the questions distributed across domains?

A: Every practice exam follows the exact domain weighting specified by CompTIA: Mobile Devices (13%), Networking (23%), Hardware (25%), Virtualisation and Cloud Computing (11%), and Hardware and Network Troubleshooting (28%). This is consistent across all six exams.

Q: Are the explanations detailed enough to learn from?

A: Yes. Every question includes a detailed explanation for each of the four answer options — not just the correct one. Additionally, each question has an overall explanation that links the topic to the specific exam objective. Many students report that the explanations alone significantly improve their understanding of difficult concepts.

Q: Will these exams be updated if CompTIA changes the objectives?

A: These exams are aligned to the current 220-1201 V15 objectives. If CompTIA releases a revised version of the exam, updated content will be provided where applicable.

Q: How long should each practice exam take?

A: Each practice exam contains 150 questions. If you want to simulate real exam pacing (90 questions in 90 minutes), you can split each exam into timed sessions of approximately 75 questions in 45 minutes. Alternatively, you can work through all 150 questions in an untimed study mode, focusing on explanations as you go.

Q: Is there a money-back guarantee?

A: Udemy offers a 30-day money-back guarantee on all courses. If you are not satisfied with the quality of the practice exams, you can request a full refund within 30 days of purchase.

Q: I failed my first attempt at the real exam. Will these help me pass on my second try?

A: Absolutely. Take your first practice exam to identify which domains contributed to your failure. Focus your revision on those areas, working through the detailed explanations to fill your knowledge gaps. Many students find that targeted practice using domain-specific feedback is the most effective way to improve between attempts.

COMPLIANCE & ETHICS NOTE

These practice exams have been created independently and are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sourced from CompTIA or any exam delivery partner. All questions are original works written to align with publicly available exam objectives.

We strongly encourage ethical exam preparation. The use of unauthorised study materials — commonly known as "brain dumps" — is a violation of CompTIA's candidate agreement. Candidates found using such materials risk having their certifications revoked and being banned from future CompTIA exams.

These practice exams are designed to build genuine understanding and exam readiness, not to replicate or approximate real exam content. The goal is to help you develop the knowledge and confidence to pass the exam on your own merits, which is exactly what employers value when they see the CompTIA A+ certification on your CV.

For more information on CompTIA's policies regarding authorised study materials, please refer to the official CompTIA Certification Exam Policies on their website.

There are so many wrong questions its ridiculous. I cannot study this anymore for my exam because I don't know if what im studying is even correct anymore. I have had to look questions up on google just to find out that I was correct and the practice test was wrong. I am on the 3rd set of tests and I have seen probably over 50 questions that are incorrect. I only payed $17 and I feel like i got scammed. Sorry for those who paid $70 go file a claim with your bank lol.
