Please do not refer to questions from here for CTAL-TM preparation, as these questions are very easy and simple. The actual exam questions are comparatively more tricky and complex

The idea of this course is to help with certification exam for "Certified Tester Advanced Level Test Management (CTAL-TM) v3.0". I appreciate the effort, but I have to add some comments, to help the potential exam takers and course buyers. First of all, it's not easy to prepare a course like this. Exam is based on official syllabus, ie. book of knowledge, but for some reason there is currently only one official example set of questions and answers available. Questions in that set and questions in a real exam are not straightforward, very often several suggested answers are similar, and it generally takes some time and very careful reading to choose the appropriate answer. Again, the main authority is the syllabus, therefore more one reads and try to remember as much as possible from the syllabus, better result he/she will get. Not all the questions award the same number of points, and some questions for 3 points are very complex. So, again: I understand it's not easy to prepare similar questions with so little material to start from. Having said that, this course should have been much better. First of all, some parts of the syllabus are barely touched. But the biggest problem is that many questions are just too easy. Very often it's obvious from the very first look what's the answer. Examples: Your test team is experiencing burnout due to high workload. Which ONE action should you implement? - Increase workload - Extend working hours - Eliminate performance reviews - Introduce regular breaks and team-building activities. Your team is using an outdated test management tool, leading to inefficiencies. Which ONE action should you take? - Switch to manual tracking methods. - Upgrade to a modern test management tool. - Ignore the issues. - Continue with current tool. Many questions can be answered just by using common sense, but real exam is not just about that: again, it's about the syllabus AND common sense. Also, some questions are repeated several times, no idea why. My conclusion: this course is still OK as a small mental exercise, and if you buy it with discount. But it should be revised and improved. There is not much competition, as this version of the certification is relatively new, so if this course gets better, it will probably have audience and it will bring profit to course providers. I recommend the developers of the course to: - check it again thoroughly, as there are some questions where wrong answers are marked as correct; - develop better questions, with less obvious answers; - check official test example for guidance on questions (of course, not all the questions have to be as in exam, but at least some should be); - not repeat the questions.
