Course Information
Course Overview
provide learners with in-depth knowledge of BGP implementation on Cisco Routers
Course Description – BGP (Border Gateway Protocol) Advanced Routing
Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) is the routing technology that powers the largest and most sophisticated network in the world today—the Internet. It is the protocol responsible for interconnecting autonomous systems and enabling efficient, scalable, and policy-driven routing between global networks.
BGP is also a foundational component of many modern networking technologies, including Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS), cloud connectivity, service provider architectures, and large-scale enterprise WAN environments. A strong understanding of BGP is essential for any engineer aspiring to work at an advanced level in routing and design.
This course is taught by a dual CCIE-certified expert with more than 10 years of hands-on experience in designing, implementing, and troubleshooting BGP in production networks. The training covers BGP theory, configuration on Cisco IOS routers, best practices, and deep troubleshooting techniques.
The curriculum includes various service provider and enterprise design scenarios, focusing on:
BGP neighbor relationships
Route advertisement and path selection
Attributes and policies for traffic engineering
Advanced BGP features and protocol scalability
Real-world usage rules and design considerations
Students will also work through hands-on exercises that reinforce practical configuration and analysis skills.
Upon successful completion of this course, learners will be prepared to design, implement, and maintain robust, efficient, and policy-driven BGP networks suitable for both enterprise and service provider environments. This training is highly valuable for professionals preparing for CCNP, CCIE, or real-world BGP deployment roles.
