Course Overview

Godot 3D: The Game Prototype Course for beginner

Learn by building simple versions of popular games – updated regularly.

Are you passionate about games and always dreamed of creating your own, but feel overwhelmed by code or complex engines?
Don’t worry — this beginner-friendly course is made just for you.

Welcome to “Godot 3D Game Prototypes for Beginners”, a hands-on, step-by-step course where you’ll learn game development by creating simple, playable 3D prototypes inspired by famous titles — all with no prior experience.

Godot is a powerful, free, and beginner-friendly engine — perfect for rapid prototyping. In this course, you’ll learn how to build your own 3D gameplay mechanics using GDScript, Godot’s easy-to-learn scripting language.

But instead of learning in the abstract, you’ll build prototypes based on popular games like Only Up and Chained Together, so you can practice recreating real-world gameplay systems in a simplified, beginner-friendly way.

What you’ll learn:

  • Build smooth 3D movement and jumping

  • Design vertical or themed levels

  • Create player checkpoints and falling mechanics

  • Export and test your own playable prototypes

  • Understand how real game mechanics are built — one step at a time

Important Note: This course will not help you create a fully polished, commercial game right away. Game development is a long journey — and mastering a game engine like Godot takes consistent effort and time.

This course is designed to give you a strong foundation through small, focused prototypes — to help you understand core concepts, not to finish a complete game.

If you skip lessons or rush through them, you’ll miss key ideas. So please, take your time — don’t skip, don’t fast-forward. Every lesson builds your skills.

Is just to copy code and it really does not teach anything

too difficult to follow, not enough explanation, mostly copying what instructor is doing. Explanations to hard to understand as no diagrams, just words in word doc. Can't even request a refund because the course is so short that once you realize that it's not what advertised it's already too late.
