My exposure to AI for Operational Excellence started in 2015–2016 when Cloud computing (AWS, Azure) made data storage and AI processing cheaper, Machine Learning libraries (like TensorFlow, Scikit-learn) became easy to use, Smart factories and Industry 4.0 concepts exploded and Leaders like Siemens, GE, Honeywell started showcasing real AI-driven operational improvements.

I continued to learn about AI for Operational Excellence through 2017–2020 when AI Becomes Mainstream with Companies scaling AI beyond pilots to full operations (supply chains, logistics, production), Predictive maintenance, energy optimization, quality inspection with computer vision became common and AI-powered RPA (Robotic Process Automation) surged for back-office operational tasks.

I have been closely watching the Hypergrowth and Real-Time Operations from 2020–Today where COVID-19 pushed companies to digitize operations faster, Real-time AI decision-making (e.g., smart logistics, digital twins) became widespread, Sustainability and ESG compliance boosted AI’s role in energy optimization and waste reduction and Now, AI is central to Operational Excellence strategies in every major manufacturing, logistics, healthcare, and utility company
