Course Information
Course Overview
Helping parents (and parents to be) understand how they can care for their adorable growing kettlebells.
Hey Newish Parent! Given the fact that you have a child (or a few) I’m going to take a wild guess and say that you’ve got some aches and pains that you’ve most likely been avoiding dealing with in favor of conquering 1,000 other responsibilities before falling face-first into bed at night in utter exhaustion...fear not! Using my experience as a Doctor of Physical Therapy and a Dad of two daughters – I will be shedding some light on ways to reduce the typical stresses on the body that we all deal with while caring for our kids. Is it hard picking up your kid out of the crib, getting them into that middle carseat, or giving them a bath? You’re not alone. It turns out that caring for a squirmy 20lb kettlebell and carrying it around with you all day can be hard. I want to help prepare more parents for the physical demands of parenthood. You'll leave this course with a bunch of practical ideas and concepts that you can build into your daily life to help protect your body so you can keep kicking butt, because let's face it, as modern parents, we don't have time for injuries.

Dr. Jason Levine really cares about helping people in the best possible way. He looks at the body from a holistic perspective, and in the end, this will get you best outcomes. From personal experience, he is an excellent doctor who helped me through headaches and back pain. This class was a great reminder to put in a little bit of time everyday to keep my body feeling its best. I highly recommend this class if you’re expecting/a new parent/ or interact with babies and kids.

This course is terrific. I wish I would have taken this earlier, before my five year old daughter weighed 40 pounds! Already noticed a difference after just one day of bending over while lifting the opposite leg for balance. Thank you so much for your commitment to health and family.

Really enjoyed Dr. Jay's welcome message. Every parent and grandparent feels both true love and stress at the same time. How effectively you prepare your body and mind to deal with this is the key and why I'm eager to learn. The goal of building capacity to accept the new load and the impact of the lever was made very clear, and drives home why it is important for me to learn good form and technique. Looking forward even more now to Dr. Jay showing me how ! The major impact of this course on me is that I am now thinking about why certain daily activities can be very challenging, and I now have some great ideas on how best to adapt: the proper way to get my granddaughter in and out of a car, keeping my center of mass close to the tub when helping during bath time, the proper way to carry a child - keep close, keeping my head up when texting, focusing on opportunities to move more when working at my desk. The examples of how to properly pick up a toy and the proper squatting technique were also very helpful. This course has gotten me to think about how wonderful it is to be a grandparent, and how important it is for me to not only do the right things, but how to do them right!
