Course Overview
Master design sketching with markers from doodles to complete renders with the help of an industrial design expert
UPDATED - Section 5: Texturing with markers - Wood
Design is a big part of my life. Ever since I was a kid, I've always been fascinated by design sketching and especially marker sketching. I mean, who doesn't love to draw and sketch stuff right?
Hi, my name is Marouane, I’m an industrial designer and founder of TheSketchMonkey, a community for designers. Sketching is something I’ve been doing for as long as I can remember and it has taken me on a journey all over the world - from my native country of Sweden to designing cars in Italy all the way to my current location, South Florida.
In this 5 hour video course, you will learn the marker sketching techniques that I’ve learned over the years as a designer.
Inside Marker Madness you will learn how to use markers to visualize your ideas on paper. From early pencil outlines to complete design renderings. We'll talk about what to think about when sketching with markers, what tools you should use to really complement the markers, the different sketching and stroke techniques for a smooth final result, how to blend markers and what to think about when adding highlights.
You’ll also learn a detailed step by step walk through of a car rendering where you can literally watch over my shoulder as we go from early outlines to a full blown color render and much much more!
This course is for you who want to improve your analog sketching skills - maybe you are an industrial designer just like me or a complete beginner who wants to dive into the world of marker sketching.
If you have any questions or feedback what so ever about the course or a specific lecture, please make sure you write it in the discussions forum. All feedback is more than welcome, since that's what I'm going to use to expand this course over time.
Thank you for your interest in my course. I’m excited to show you all of this and I hope you are too!

Maybe not the best fit as I am more interested in Urban Sketching but it was very informative. Did enjoy thoe Course but doubt I will get into product rendering.

as final review I think that 2,5 up to 5 is enough. For sure the professor is prepared, but in more than one lesson seems that this one was not prepared and just video of ongoing drawing was done. N addition to this, honestly, I was waiting for a course where just marker coloring was explained. Thanks for the bonus track, but putting in the middle of the lesson just confuse the student. Poor interaction with student also. Just few exercise were proposed. I encourage you in making more a journey of your course with a start a trip and a finish. Also add some more exercise and, instead of question on learning concept, add some more exercise on coloring. In addition please suggest some more (different) marker with respect to copic. Not everyone can front their costs. Thanks for all the thing you gave to us. In the end I can say I am satisfied of the things I learned.

I updated my review because i did some more courses here on Udemy and now i can say that this course is one of the worst. Marouane Bembli did not put any effort into this course. He barely explains what is behind the sketches. Most of the Time it feels he doesnt know ether. The quiz sections are just a single question so its not even a quiz. It just makes the course look bigger and more planned then it actually is. The Bonus chapter are just some videos from his youtube channel. The good thing is Marouane Bembli is a nice and pleasant person. I could follow along easily and i had fun doing the course. So the course really helps to get started and doing something. For those of you who have problems getting started on their own i would recommend this course. For the ones who want actually learn something about techniques and rendering... better keep looking.
