Course Overview

Tai Chi Combat Application based on Tai Chi 24 Form

Form, introductory exercise, partner exercise and applications.

太极拳 Tai Chi Quan (High Chinese: Tai Ji Quan) is an ancient martial art from China based on Daoist philosophy. The focus is on the interaction between mental and physical training.

The 24 section Tai Chi form is a mixed form and is based on the Yang style Tai Ji Quan.

In this course, the movements are introduced with the help of light coordination exercises and can thus be learned step by step.

Each movement was originally designed for combat. However, many Tai Chi practitioners do not focus on the fighting aspect because they are training only a part of the whole system. Therefore, we will show a few simple Tai Chi applications.

Of course, not all practitioners are expected to become fighters. Nevertheless, the applications serve as a mental support. The functional aspects help to improve the angles and direction of the movements. This will revitalize your mind and body.

For beginners it is recommended to watch the long version with audio first. The advanced experienced Tai Chi practitioners can also watch the short version first, which are noted with keywords.

With the theories and applications, I am by no means claiming that they are the only "original" ways. Or that my style is the only correct one. It is only an attempt to show the common movement concept of Tai Chi by means of the mixed form of the 24 section.

My Tai Chi master (Li Shuli) trains Wu style, but he also let me train, spar and communicate with his friends from other Tai Chi styles and BJJ, Sanda and Shua Jiao practitioners. This resulted in my experience, which will be shown in this course.

I want to learn each of the 24 movements this video is focused on applying the TaiCHi movements to self defense. Its interesting and well done in that regard but not useful to me. I requested a refund so I could purchase another video more relevant but I my request was denied, so my only recourse is to leave a poor review
