Course Overview
A Mixed Media Class -Learn to make an animal collage using magazine paper as your paint.
Learn how to create a portrait of your pet using magazine paper as your paint. In this advanced course, you will be using your own pet, or any animal of your choice, as your subject while you follow along as I work on a collage of my own dog.
You will learn:
how to create a drawing of your pet and transfer it to your canvas
the different styles of magazine collage and how they impact the look of your collage
how to tackle challenges regarding animal's fur types and coloring
the process of working on the collage from start to finish
things to consider when adding images of objects in your art
how I create the nose and eyes
how to add custom words or dates
how to protect your collage when finished
what I write on the back and how I frame my collages
Throughout the course, you will get tips and suggestions that will help you with your portrait. What you learn can be applied to any subject of your choosing beyond animals.
This course is designed for those who have taken my Intro Class or who have had previous experience working with magazine paper in their artwork. If you have questions about what magazines to use or how to work with the paper, please see my Intro Class.
