Ostinato = Drive and Energy
The focus of ostinatos is on rhythm and pulse. And even though you can switch notes a lot to follow chords and harmonies, the main purpose of an ostinato is to add that persistent drive that adds energy into your music.
Ostinato is the Italian word for stubborn, persistent or obstinate. Knowing this will help you get a better sense of the true meaning of an ostinato. A rhythmic note pattern that feels repetitive.
In the end, you will be able to create any type and style of ostinato for your music, with the practical knowledge you will gain from this course.
My name is Mike, music composer and sound designer since 1998. And I truly love to inspire, motivate and educate creative people like you.

While the material was informative about Ostinatos it did not really do much in the way of practical exercises on each type, analyses of different ostinatos or really do much that would facilitate creating ostinatos.

Another fantastic course from Mike. Explanations and demonstrations are excellent. My one suggestion is to have a section that shows the ostinato's actually being built - the sound design course has this feature. However, this is a great little course. Thanks Mike.
