I am an instructional designer. I am taking this course because as soon as I started providing voiceover work with clients, as part of a podcast, and for my social media, I recieved more positive feedback than in any other area of my work. I have been listing things of note (from a learning design perspective) which this course has been excellent in as I have moved through it. Here they are: Person to person responses and contact offered- Individual Learner Support; Discussion of how those taking the course now can directly impact potential students in a positive way- Community Building; Spent a good amount of time talking genuinely to the learner as an instructor- building empathy and trust between teacher and student; Gave emotionally driven context behind the work; Offered downloadables- Scripted Text and Slides (slight room for work here- would have been better if reorganized into short sheet of takeaways- still excellent); Spoke clearly, informally, and directly to his learners in a way that makes sense for this cohort; Gave examples for each of his points to help the learner understand what he means; Provided relevant personal anecdotes and stories to exemplify; Recapped at the end! So far, I am very happy (and relieved) with this course. There is a ton of junk out there, and it is hard to trudge through it through my keen lense. This course is NOT an example. So far, it is great.
