In this course, you will be introduced to how to evaluate positions based on strategic elements. The course is perfect for players rated 200 up to 2200. It may fill in gaps in chess knowledge and elevate your understanding of the game.This allows you to understand chess more deeply and be able to make sound, well-reasoned decisions and plans. Chess positions will become less enigmatic to the student as they gain an understanding of the nature of the position and which factors predominate in any situation.

The video lectures go through middle game positions where one or more elements predominate. Instruction on how to go about training your awareness and positional sense are included with references to free resources.

Additionally, tactical motifs are included. This will be good for players who are beginners and novices in the game. Understanding tactical motifs can help you identify patterns that typically occur.

Common middlegame combinations are added to assist in developing and improving your pattern recognition ability.

Basic and essential endgame knowledge is also covered. Basic king and pawn endgames, the concept of opposition, and fundamental rook endgames like the Lucena and the Philidor position will be covered here. This is perfect for beginners and intermediates who may have gaps in their chess education.
