Enrollment Method
(1) It normally takes about 20 minutes to complete this on-line application for a first-time user. In case the system expires before you have completed the application, you can re-login to the system for continuation of application.
You must complete the whole application procedure on or before the application deadline. Otherwise, your application will not be processed.

(3) Please download the Employer Information Form. Fill in it and upload the signed form with a company stamp onto the on-line application system.
(4) Please scan your academic transcript(s) / certificate(s) and certificate of employment (if applicable) for uploading

What You’ll Learn
Programme Details
This programme, which aims to upgrade the skills of in-service workers of lift/escalator engineering to achieve Qualifications Framework (QF) Level 2, is recognised by the Electrical and Mechanical Services Department of the HKSAR Government as satisfying the academic requirements for the registration as Registered Lift and Escalator Worker.
The programme covers: Lift Mechanical Practice; Safety, Health and Environment; Fundamental Engineering Calculations; Lift and Escalator Practice; Circuit and Measurement; Lift Maintenance; Basic Lift Control Practice; Escalator Installation and Maintenance; Electrical Materials and Industrial Electronics; Lift Installation; Single-Phase and Three-Phase Circuits; Lift and Escalator Examination and Testing; Motors and Transformers.
Remarks:
- Students may be required to attend classes on other VTC campuses. VTC reserves the right to cancel any programme, revise programme content or change the offering institute(s) / campus(es) / class venue(s) if circumstances so warrant.
- Face-to-face lessons may be changed to online or other mode where appropriate according to the special circumstances.
Entry Requirements
- Completion of S3; or
- Completion of a QF Level 1 programme that is deemed acceptable to the respective Programme Board; or
- Relevant RPL qualification(s) at QF Level 1 or above AND a pass in an entry assessment, which can be either in an oral or written form; or
- Other relevant verifiable prior learning that is/are deemed appropriate by respective Programme Board AND a pass in an entry assessment, which can be either in an oral or written form;
AND
- Three years of working experience of which One year in the lift or escalator engineering field; and
- Employed by a lift / escalator contractor.
