Perl is a generic term used for the two programming languages, Perl 5 and Perl 6. This course covers the basic concepts of Perl and enables the students to start using Perl programming languages to develop efficient applications that could be used to solve the day-to-day problems.

    It is a good hands on course for learning perl, albeit a bit sloppy at times (use strict or not changing; using m before regex delimiter; etc.) Not sure about the target audience. I was hoping for an introduction to the weird and savage syntax of Perl for someone with some higher level language experience having to deal with legacy code. There is too much blathering for this kind of audience and some of the crazy Perl-stuff is not dealt with thoroughly enough. But then, again, I cannot expect a "Perl for C# devs" type of course... The Regex chapter was a good hands-on primer for someone never heard of it before. question 31 is imho missing a ]-bracket
