Coloured pencil lesson on drawing a beautiful Kingfisher using actual live lesson from my art school
In this course you will follow along with my students and create a wonderful drawing of a Kingfisher using coloured pencils. There will be shorter demonstration clips from other lessons such as an owl, a ballerina, and a statue. Also a downloadable PDF file of materials you need and suppliers along with a photograph of the Kingfisher you are about to draw.

What You’ll Learn

I am an absolute beginner to pencil drawing and what I liked about this course was I got straight in to drawing a picture. The course tells you the coloured pencils you will need and the paper. I also had to get a decent pencil sharpener and an artist eraser. Following the course you quickly start seeing your kingfisher taking shape and try different techniques. The instructor is very responsive to emails and can help if, like me, you are unsure of some of the techniques. You also get feedback on your drawing to help you improve.

Really enjoyed the course, coloured pencils give such a wonderful picture with all the layering techniques. I’m sure all levels of expertise would enjoy this course and end up with a picture well worth framing. I found Eric’s style to be informative, fun and enjoyable, you just have to dive in and get on with it just like Eric does!

I enjoyed this class and the picture I produced was fine. I only started using coloured pencils at the beginning of this year (2018) but I found the course well laid out and easy to follow. Eric Thompson has a pleasant voice and is very good instructor. A full list of each coloured pencil used by shade number and manufacturer would be useful for an absolute beginner. I can recommend this course.
