Course Overview

IB Mathematics AA HL – Core Foundations (Module 1)

The non-negotiable thinking, structure, and algebraic control required for IB AA HL Paper 1 & 2 — before advanced topics

This course is the first module of a structured IB Mathematics AA Higher Level series.

It focuses on the core foundations that students must master before progressing to calculus, advanced algebra, and applications.

Rather than memorising formulas, this course develops mathematical thinking, precision, and clear structure, in line with rigorous assessment standards.

You will work with logical statements and correct mathematical language, sets and notation used throughout the syllabus, functions as formal mathematical objects, function operations, inverses and domains, sequences and series as models, and graphical interpretation with structured reasoning.

Every lesson is designed with clear explanations, carefully chosen examples, common examiner pitfalls, and a final test to consolidate understanding.

This course does not rely on shortcuts or exam tricks. It prepares learners to think, write, and structure mathematics correctly and consistently.

It is ideal as a foundation before starting calculus, as structured support alongside school lessons, and as preparation for more advanced modules.
