Course Overview

In our modern era, it has now become somewhat inevitable that one would come across the use of computer, the Internet and other social media in daily work setting. This workshop aims to cover the basic essentials of cyber crime that are common in Hong Kong, for example the offence of access to computer with a criminal/ dishonest intent, and to introduce the way to react and steps to be taken in case cyber fraud unfortunately takes place. This workshop would also touch upon the newly introduced criminal offence of “doxxing” under the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance (Cap. 486). Latest and key developments in this area would be discussed with reference to recent court judgments and other relevant materials.
