Course Overview
The Advanced Diploma in Professional Accounting Studies (DADAS) offered by The Hong Kong Management Association (HKMA) is specially designed for those who wish to enter in the accounting and finance industries at para-professional level. This programme provides a good opportunity for candidates to build up solid accountancy knowledge and techniques.
DADAS aims at developing students’ accountancy knowledge and skills at an advanced level. The curriculum is developed based on the syllabi of the Applied Knowledge and Applied Skills exams of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA).
DADAS graduates can articulate to BA (Hons) Accounting and Finance (BAAF) offered by University of Greenwich in collaboration with HKMA. Graduates who have completed both programmes are eligible to apply for ACCA exam exemptions up to 9 papers (F1 – F9).

What You’ll Learn
DADAS 01 – Corporate & Business Law (60 hours)
This module aims to develop knowledge and skills in the understanding of the general legal framework. Specific areas of the law related to business and corporations will be explored to equip students with the basic knowledge and understanding required of an accountant.

- Employment law
- Formation and constitution of business organizations
- Capital and the financing of companies
- Management, administration and regulation of companies
- Corporate fraudulent and criminal behaviour
DADAS 02 – Performance Management (60 hours)
This module aims to develop knowledge and skills in the application of management accounting techniques to quantitative and qualitative information for planning and control, decision making and performance evaluation.

DADAS 03 – Hong Kong Taxation (60 hours)
This module aims at introducing the underlying principles and rules of taxation in Hong Kong. It covers core areas of taxes including the scope of charge, computation, compliance and specific topics for each major type of tax through a variety of scenarios and situations. It develops students’ practical skills with detailed knowledge of taxation that an accountant would need to have.

DADAS 04 – Financial Reporting (60 hours)
This module aims to develop knowledge and skills in understanding and applying international accounting standards and the theoretical framework in the preparation of financial statements of entities including groups and how to analyze and interpret those financial statements.
