Course Overview
The goal of the programme is to enable the students to attain an introductory level of practical Korean necessary for survival and everyday life in a Korean language environment.
Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of the programme, students will have acquired the ability to:
1. demonstrate introductory knowledge of Korean sound/character writing systems which appear frequently in daily communication;
2. identify adequate vocabulary and grammatical rules, such as noun counters and particles, honorific
inflexions for verbs and adjectives, inflexions of tense, auxiliary and compound verbs, and noun modifiers; and
3. present orally simple ideas related to daily life, such as existence, transportation, prices, and making requests in specific situations such as at restaurants and department stores.

Module 1 Introductory Korean 1 (54 hours)
This module aims to provide new Korean learners with a proper learning experience with different elements of the Korean language, such as the Korean alphabet, pronunciation, simple vocabulary, grammar, and everyday conversations.
Module 2 Introductory Korean 2 (54 hours)
This module is a continuation of “Introductory Korean 1”, and it aims to provide and enhance intro-level Korean learners with a proper learning experience with different elements of the Korean language, such as difficult pronunciation, simple vocabulary, detailed grammar, and everyday conversations at Level 1 of TOPIK standards (Test of Proficiency in Korean).
