Course Overview
The programme comprises two academic module sets and aims to prepare students for careers as technicians in the surveying profession, assisting professional surveyors in two major areas of work :
- Building Surveying - Inspection of new buildings prior to occupation; building inspection and maintenance; planning, designing, managing and monitoring building projects; supervising the construction and revitalization of buildings; and co-ordinating the activities for construction project development.
- Quantity Surveying - financial planning for construction projects; preparation of estimates; tendering; cash flow forecast; cost control; preparation of bill of quantities, contract documents and specification; contract administration; construction project management; value assessment; arbitration and dispute resolution.
