Course Overview
Overview
Agile project management is an iterative method of determining requirements of projects in a highly flexible and interactive manner. It is a method of doing projects by empowering and trusting people, acknowledging change as norm, and promoting constant feedback. For organizations adopting agile approaches to project management, they place importance on individual and interactions over processes and tools, working software over comprehensive documentation, customer collaboration over contract negotiation and responding to change over following a plan.
PMI-ACP® is positioned to recognize and validate knowledge of agile principles, practices and tools and techniques across agile methodologies.
About the Certification
- The certification was launched and awarded in 2011 by Project Management Institute (PMI®) which was founded in 1969 as a Not-for-Profit Professional Association. By Mar 2014, there are 450,064 PMI® members across the globe
- PMI®’s research has shown that the use of agile has tripled from December 2008 to May 2011
- The PMI-ACP®’s committee comprises of the founding member/co-author of Agile Manifesto, Agile book authors and the founder of Agile CoP who have acquired diverse, cross-methodological leadership and agile certification experiences
